It’s back to nature all right – in fact it’s hewn out of rock without running water, electricity or a toilet.
But, not surprisingly, estate agents are expecting bids of up to £25,000 when aptly-named Rock Cottage goes under the hammer next week.
Described as a ‘rare opportunity’, the home in hills outside Wolverley, Worcestershire, is one of 50 ‘built’ in the area in the late 18th century.
It was last occupied in the late 1940s, said auctioneer Daniel Lovatt, of Kidderminster- based estate agency Halls.
Now, though, it’s unlikely to be deemed habitable by the council, he added.
The home, which is hewn out of a sandstone cliff and comes with three other adjoining caves, has generated a large amount of interest, including more than 50 requests for viewings.
